The Viking Fortress Borgring is designed with a focus on accessibility for all visitors.
From Køge Station, you can take bus 260R towards Ringsted Station. If you get off at the Lellinge Kirke (Ringstedvej) stop, it’s about a 500-meter walk in the fresh air to the Viking Fortress Borgring.
If you’re coming by car, you can park close to the museum. Signs will guide you. Parking in the museum’s parking lot is free.
There are handicap parking spaces right in front of the museum—for both cars and accessible buses.
We have also considered guests arriving in electric vehicles. That’s why we have installed charging stations so you can charge your car while visiting the museum, taking a walk around Borgring, or enjoying lunch in the café. Standard rules and terms apply to parking spaces with charging stations.
The museum has three levels, but there is elevator access so all exhibitions can be visited without using stairs. There are no high door thresholds or level differences that would hinder movement with a wheelchair, walker, or stroller.
A disabled toilet is available in the museum’s arrival area alongside the regular toilets, where there is also access to a changing table.
It is possible to visit Borgring itself via a gravel path that starts at the museum. The path is approximately 1.5 km long. Please be aware that the return trip to the museum is uphill, which may require extra assistance for those with mobility difficulties.
In our museum shop, you can buy magnets, books, Viking games, comics, and toys that let the memory of Borgring live on at home.
The museum shop’s opening hours follow those of the Viking fortress Borgring.
In our café, you can purchase food and beverages to enjoy on the go around the grounds or in our specially designed dining hall. The menu offers options for both sweet and savory tastes, as well as for little and big Vikings alike.
Bringing your own food and drinks is not allowed inside the museum.
Only service dogs are allowed at the Viking Fortress Borgring. Please remember to clean up after your dog.
Smoking is not allowed inside the Viking Fortress Borgring's indoor areas. Smoking is permitted outdoors, but please be considerate of other visitors—and remember to dispose of your waste in the provided bins.
