Planning your day
You can easily fill a whole day experiencing The Danish Castle Centre.

Keep an eye on what times the guided tours and other activities are taking place throughout the day, in order to make the absolute most of your visit.

If there's any waiting time for the digital guides, we recommend that you start off by visiting Gåsetårnet, the Castle Restaurant, the Children's Castle Centre, the exhibition pavilions, or just by enjoying the beautiful castle grounds. Vordingborg itself was also once Valdemar the Great's, so you can use the time just to take a walk and explore the town. Visit amongst other things the medieval church of Vor Frue - 'Our Lady' - close to the castle ruins.

Parking
There are free car parking places on Voldgade, at the back of 'Kornerups Rådhus'. There is also parking by 'Havnevej', and behind Vordingborg Town Hall ('Vordingborg Rådhus'). See map.

Free parking places for tourist coaches. Coaches can let passengers out at the stopping places on Algade, just by Glambæksvej. Stopping time here is 30 mins. Longer-term parking is found on Karolinegangen.

Toilets
Toilets at The Danish Castle Centre are publicly available. They can be found behind the ticket sales by the entrance.

Photography
Photography is permitted only for private use. Commercial photography, filming or the like is permitted only by prior arrangement with The Danish Castle Centre.

Smoking
Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside Danish Castle Centre buildings. Smoking is permitted on the castle grounds - with consideration shown to other visitors.

For safety reasons it is not permitted to bring pets inside any Danish Castle Centre buildings. Guide dogs are excepted. Pets are welcome in the castle grounds.

Cloakroom
Lockers can be found by the entrance. They are operated by inserting a 10kr piece - returned again upon unlocking.

Call the main museum number, 70 70 12 36, to see what items have been lost and found. Otherwise, please refer to Vordingborg Police, on 55 31 14 48. We pass lost items on to Vordingborg Police once a fortnight.
